Labor Day Weekend Picnic and Milonga
Sunday, September 5
Cheesman Park Pavilion
Denver, CO
6PM to 10PM
Cost: $20, but is included with most Festival passes
DJ: Martin Rybczynski
The Labor Day picnic is one of Tango Colorado's premiere events, and it's NEXT SUNDAY.

We have a special treat for you on September 14. Live music returns to the Tuesday practica. We're going to try this out to see the response. Trio con Brio will be performing; they were a big hit when they played at the Boulder practica last month. Please come by to listen and dance.

AT THE PRACTICAS - SUMMARY
DENVER in August on Tuesdays
Marika Landry from Montreal and Avik Basu from Ann Arbor will be arriving for the Labor Day Festival early and will be teaching an INTERMEDIATE class at the Denver practica on Tuesday, August 31. Please join them for this special treat at the REGULAR PRICES. There will be NO Beginner or Beyond Beginner classes this week.
Every third Tuesday of the month is "Friends Night". When a Tango Colorado member brings a non-member, both the member and non-member get in for FREE, for both the class AND the practica. What better way to introduce new people to this dance? We usually, but not always, will put out a nice spread of food on Friends Night. So please, BRING A FRIEND!
TEACHERS:
Marika Landry and Avik Basu - Intermediate
DJs:
8/3 Nick Jones
8/10 Donna Kleinman
8/17 Tom Stermitz

Here's a reminder about the floor space at the Denver classes and practica. For classes, the Beginner class is to the left (north side) as you enter the ballroom, the Beyond Beginner class is to the right (south side), and the small space in the middle is for people to practice who aren't taking the classes. During the practica, after the classes are finished, the space to the left as you enter the ballroom is for milonga-style (more formal) dancing with a very definite line of dance, and the space to the right is for practica-style, less structured and informal dancing. People who are practicing or taking private lessons should use the south side of the ballroom.
BOULDER in August on Thursdays
No Practica September 2 because of a conflict with the Labor Day Festival.
Price Break Alert! Every 1st Thursday in Boulder is $5 night. Everyone gets in - for class, practica, or class and practica - for just Five Bucks.

TANGO HOSTS
"Tango Hosts" is an ongoing project that continues to play a vital role in introducing new dancers into our Tango Colorado community. Dancers, both men AND women, are needed for TCs Tuesday Night Practica in Denver. Tango Hosts get FREE admittance into the Denver Practica. Becoming a Tango Host is fairly easy. Just sign up at the front desk at the Turnverein, review the "Tango Hosts" policy, and pickup the Flower ID and off you go. When you're finished, return the Flower and list the number of Tandas danced so the success of the project can be followed. We encourage instructors to host as well.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Attention dancers: Tango Colorado is a volunteer-run organization. It takes a lot of help from many people to keep all of these great dance activities up and running. TC needs your help to make it all work. Please let us know if you can help in any way from donating a little time at the practicas, to helping plan the big events, or serving a term on the board of directors. Tango Colorado is a big family and we need help from everyone to make it great! Please share your ideas, talents and time with us! Write to board@tangocolorado.org or talk to one of the volunteers at the TC practicas on Tuesday or Thursday.
